About Yoshida Express
A family-friendly Japanese owned steakhouse.
Located at 611 Tunnel Rd Ste B, Asheville, NC 28805, Yoshida Express operates as a japanese serving Asheville in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as steak house, sushi restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Asheville, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 amβ3 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (828) 298-6967. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is yoshidaexpress.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Iβve been eating at Express Japanese for years, and it has always been one of my favorite places in Asheville. Unfortunately, this visit will probably be my last until the restaurant undergoes some major cleaning and renovations. The condition of the dining area was very disappointing. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned before we could sit down, and I ended up switching chairs because the one at our table was so dirty. There was visible grease buildup on the dining room walls, and the floors looked like they hadnβt been mopped in quite some time. What concerned me even more was what I could see in and around the kitchen area. The ceilings, walls, and floors all appeared dirty, and it made it very difficult to enjoy my meal. The food itself was okay, but seeing the overall cleanliness of the restaurant made me lose my appetite. It honestly breaks my heart to leave this review because this used to be one of my go-to restaurants. I truly hope the owners invest in a deep cleaning and some much-needed renovations so it can become the place I used to love. Iβd be happy to come back if those improvements are made.

The lady that took my carryout order was pleasant and polite. I was disappointed at the quality of food and the general feeling of neglect in the restaurant. The food seemed old and I'm hoping it was ok to eat. Expensive considering the quality. Many years ago we ate here several times and it was a bustling restaurant, but this Saturday evening it was nearly empty, so I guess folks have caught on. It's a shame, we used to love this place.

I have lived in Asheville for five years and this was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten in this area. I decided to give this place a try bc it was conveniently on the way to my gfβs house. I was disappointed that they didnβt have a website so I had no way of looking to see what was on their menu. I found old photos of their menu that must be 10+ years old on google which showed an average meal cost of about 8$. After calling and placing an order I was then told each meal cost about $15. This is normal pricing for a take out meal at most downtown restaurants Iβm using to eating at, so I went with it. The food turned out to be not much better than cafeteria food. We ordered hibachi chicken and shrimp. It was the cheapest looking/tasting food Iβve ever received in Asheville. It came in cheap little styrofoam containers and the βsweet carrotsβ were straight out of a can. I guarantee I could have cooked my own hibachi food ten times better myself with little to no experience. Iβll never order food from here again, especially not for those prices. $8 would have been a reasonable price for these meals.

Fresh and delicious food. Great service. Good prices. My concern is the cleanliness of the restaurant itself. Definitely need to work on wiping down the walls and trash cans covered in fat and leftover foods. The dirtiness kinda makes it cheap looking.
